Nail Files: Minty Tips

This nail polish is amazing! Really! It lasted me two weeks (or more?) without a single chip! Haha!

I usually switch up my nail color after a week especially if I started seeing a chip or two. Plus, I'd really love to be able to wear all the nail polishes I have at present for as often as I can. But for this one, I was really pleasantly surprised when I realized I've been wearing it for two weeks and still looked as good as when I first applied it. So neat! And I love the color, too.
A white, gigantic ring! This is definitely one of my favorites.
The color really stands out, don't you think? Photobucket

JMag: Yui's Fashion Patrol ft. Icy Style

I just can't stress enough how much I love this monthly NYLON Japan spread. Yui-chan always looks amazingly different! I love how the stylists deviate from her usual girl-next-door image and make her a bit edgier. Plus they always make her wear either smokey-eye or with-a-pop-of-color makeup looks. But I think they're running out of ideas on what style to feature for this spread. I mean, "Icy Style?" Really? The looks featured here do not immediately give an "icy" vibe. I get what they're going for, but it's not enough to call it "icy." Haha.

I'M GOING TO HANOI AND KUALA LUMPUR!

I've finally booked flights to Hanoi, Vietnam and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia the day before yesterday. Gosh! Sometimes booking flights online can be such a hassle. And I thought it's supposed to make things easier.

So, yeah. I'm going out of the country for two separate school trips late August and mid-September. (FYI: I'm currently taking my MA degree in Asian Studies, so visiting other Asian countries is a must!) I'm super psyched about these trips because it'll be my first time visiting another country (lame, lame, I know). I've been to different places here in the Philippines, so I guess it's about time to see what's beyond the borders. Though the trips will mainly be more "educational" than "entertaining," (though I'm sure they're not mutually exclusive), I'm still looking forward to seeing how different these places are from where I grew up.

Most of all, I'm very excited to blog about these trips! Yay!

[By the time this gets posted, I'm probably in the middle of delivering my report about the independence of some Southeast Asian nations. Yikes! Wish me luck!]

JMag: Hamasaki Ayumi for ViVi September 2012

Ayu graces the cover of ViVi for the nth time!

I'm not sure if I like this old school gyaru thing she has going on, but she's pretty nonetheless.

KMag: Girls Generation in High Cut vol. 81

I've stopped caring about their music-related activities a few years ago, but they still remain relevant to me (especially my favorite girl Jessica) everytime I see their fashion spreads in magazines. I must say their styles have evolved a lot especially now that the members are all in their 20s. They're simply at the peak of their beauties!
I want everything they're wearing in this photo... except Yoona's.

I still want everything here except Yoona's. It's definitely the cap that turned me off.
Look how mega fierce the two Korean-Americans are! I really like both of their outfits, so they're probably my two favorites in this spread. And I definitely love those red locks on Tiffany. Hopefully she won't switch styles anytime soon.

As for Hyoyeon and Sunny, I wouldn't like the couple plaid if not for the colors. The green-brown combi is a win!
I've been seeing the pumps-with-socks look in Asian magazines since last year. I absolutely love that trend! It makes pumps wearable for both classy and girly looks. Without socks = classy, sexy, sophisticated; With socks = cute, girly, casual

Current Beauty Muse: Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen

Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen (Titles, Titles...)
I've been copying the character's hairstyles this past few days (minus the bleached hair, course), and I'm really enjoying it. Haha! They're pretty easy, just a few braids here and there and crimped locks.
Her clothes/costumes are not to be ignored, too. They're awesome! She looks hot as a savage queen traveling in a desert and really pretty as a strong-willed princess. The last time I wanted to wear something like an armor was when Xena: The Warrior Princess aired years ago. Haha! Remember how Daenerys looked like during her stay in Qarth? Those dresses were gorgeous!

Review: Lioele Beyond the Solution BB Cream

Product Features:
A Total Solution Concept!
Provides natural cover and helps make the skin supple
Can be used for faster makeup application
Gives natural color to the skin
Has bisabolol, licorice acid derivatives, and allantoin component, macademia nut oil, hyauronic acid derivatives, and marin collagen

Reasons for Buying:
I've seen many makeup gurus on YouTube use this product a lot. I was choosing between this and the Lioele Water Drop BB Cream, and some reviews I've read said this gives better coverage, which was exactly what I was looking for.

Details
Type: Combination to Oily
Foundation Shade: MAC NC15-20
Mid20s

Observations:
Cute packaging. Again, just like the Skin79 Hot Pink BB cream, the color totally got me. The product is in a very adorable pink and white packaging, and the box is equally attractive. It is a lot slimmer than the other BB creams I've purchased, but it is also 50mL.
Gives great coverage. This product has really light consistency, but it gives decent amount of coverage. It can start off as a medium coverage product but it is certainly "buildable." It can cover majority of skin imperfections though redness and slight blemishes may still be visible. The product is also very easy to apply on the skin.
Dries to a semi-matte finish. If you do not have oily skin, you can wear this BB cream alone without any setting powder.
Does not contain SPF. This is probably the downside of this product to me. The label doesn't say anything about SPF, and I can't read Korean words, so I'm assuming it has no SPF whatsoever. Even on days when I'm not going to be out in the sun, I like wearing products with SPF especially if  I'm going to be working in front of the computer for hours. So I usually just use this product when I'm indoors.
Has Only One Available Shade. It is only suitable to people with light to fair complexion.
L: Product when dispensed from the tube
R: Product when slightly blended on the skin
Overall:
I like it because it works well for my skin. I do not like it as much as I like Missha M Perfect Cover and Tony Moly Expert 3D Collagen, but it is a lot better than Skin79 Hot Pink. For those looking for a lightweight BB cream that gives decent amount of coverage, this is a good choice.

A Bunny Travels in Pink: Baluarte, Ilocos Norte 2007

I was browsing through some of my photographs back in college and I came across the photos my friends and I have taken during our class trip in Ilocos in 2007.

This one caught my eye:
My sick-looking self with dark circles, ugly tan, and random peace sign

Arashi fans out there, does the place look familiar? My li'l pink arrow is there as a hint.Photobucket

Christian Louboutin Makes Modern-Day Cinderella Shoes!

Is this for real or what?
Christian Louboutin's Cinderella Shoes

Disney tapped the famed designer that made red soles to-die-for to make a recreation of the classic princess shoes, and these limited edition pairs were produced to commemorate the Diamond Edition release of Cinderella on Blu-ray and DVD in October. Instead of using glass as described in the movie (CL defies expectations), butterflies with Swarovski crystal embellishments and transparent white laces complete the look of these stilletos. And what's a Louboutin without the iconic red sole? This collaborative piece was unveiled in Paris during Couture Fashion Week at a soiree at the Palais Brongniart. Images from the making of the original 1950 Disney animated film were also used during the presentation.
Want to have them? Well, it's nearly impossible. Only 20 pairs were manufactured and they will be given for free in various countries. But who knows? "The dream that you wish will come true..."

Nail Files: Color Crazy with OMG Nail Color by Klik

I went a little crazy with my nail color after purchasing a few new bottles yesterday. Like what I always say in my Nail Files posts over and over again, I'm all for bright and happy colors. So why not use three of them all at once? Haha.
Left Hand (OMG Nail Color in Atlantis and Bikini)
Right Hand (OM Nail Colors in Purple Passion and Bikini)
It's actually my first time to try these really affordable nail polishes from OMG, and I'm pretty impressed. They have very interesting shade names, too.(bikini? atlantis? Haha! Super cute!). The colors are true to what you can see in the bottle, and you don't need to keep adding coats to get the desired result. It may look like you smothered paint on your nails though, so be sure to pair it with a nice top coat for a glossy finish.

I'd also love to try the cracked nails that they have. Hopefully, they're as good as the regular ones.
